From Vision to On-Ground Impact: The Curiosity Labs Journey
Curiosity isn’t just a trait, it’s the engine of the future. In government schools across India, thousands of students harbor the ambition to become the scientists, engineers, and innovators of tomorrow. However, the gap between “wanting to learn” and “having the tools to innovate” has historically been a significant hurdle.
Through the powerful partnership of Genpact CSR, Yuva Unstoppable, UWH, and UWK, we are bridging this divide. The Curiosity Labs Initiative was born from a simple, resolute belief: access to experiential STEM learning and AI-focused curricula can unlock limitless potential, regardless of a student’s background.
Turning Curiosity into Capability:
We aren’t just creating spaces; we are equipping the next generation with a sophisticated toolkit to solve real-world problems. Each Curiosity Lab is designed to provide hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology.
Our Lab Inventory includes:
- 100 Electronics Kits: Foundation for circuit building and physical computing.
- 50 Robotics Kits: Bringing code to life through mechanical design.
- 50 Sensor AI Automation Kits: Building data literacy through hands-on AI projects.
- 10 Drone/Aero Modelling Kits: Teaching flight principles and aerospace engineering.
- 3D Printers: Essential tools for design iteration and rapid prototyping.
Our Core Learning Pillars
- Applied AI & Data Literacy: Training students to build and understand simple models.
- Physical Computing & Robotics: Integrating hardware, software, and mechanical design.
- Cognitive & Design Mindset: Utilizing Computational Thinking and 3D printing to turn failures into iterative learning opportunities.
- 21st-Century Skills: Fostering collaboration and communication to solve community-centric challenges.
Impact and Reach: A Momentum of Growth
The Curiosity Labs journey is gaining significant momentum as we scale our reach to empower underserved communities. We are proud to share that in Lucknow, the initiative spans 25 schools and is currently empowering 8,000 students, while in Jodhpur, we are actively engaging 7 schools and impacting 3,000 students.
A Celebration of Innovation
Beyond our broader scaling efforts, we recently celebrated the talent and creativity of our students at the Curiosity Labs Science Fair in Jodhpur. The energy was electric, and the projects on display were a testament to the potential we are unlocking.
The Talent: 52 finalists presented 41 ingenious projects.
Project Scope: Innovations ranged from Automatic Street Lights and Advanced Security Systems to assistive devices for the visually impaired.
The Recognition: We were honored to have Ms. Shraddha Pandey (Genpact CSR) join us, reinforcing to the students that their dreams are valid and their innovations matter.
What’s Next?
Beyond the numbers and the hardware, the real impact lies in the confidence we see in these students. When a student programs a system to save energy or engineers an assistive device, they aren’t just learning science, they are developing the problem-solving mindset of a leader.
As we move forward, our focus remains on sustainability and scale. With the unwavering leadership of Rachna Chugh , Sutanuka Ghosh , and Shraddha Pandey from the Genpact team, alongside the dedication of our partners, we are committed to keeping this momentum going.
We aren’t just building labs; we are shaping a generation of innovators. Driven by purpose. Fueled by partnership. Here’s to igniting curiosity and turning “What if…” into “What I did.”
Together, we are truly unstoppable! 🚀
